Role of Karachi's Women in Peace Maintenance

A T.V show "Karachi ki baat" (aaj tv channel show), recorded in Jinnah University for Women. It was hosted by Rizwan Jaffar. The guest were Mrs Alia Burni (social worker) and runs Sarim Burney trust. Sheema Kirmani (artist), Shumaila Naqvi (advocate high court, social activist). Dr. Yasmine sultana (hod of department media studies in J.U.W). The topic was the role of women in the development of infrastructure and promotion of peace in Karachi. Initially, they discussed the importance of women,the image of women in society. Very well known artist Sheema Kirmani said that society is facing difficulties because of men. Women don't create bad environment. She added that every individual girl has a right to take all important decision like education, to whom to marry and when to get marry. Its only her decision to take not others. The critical discussion started between the guests. Alia Burni stated that women are delicate although they are strong but in some cases women need advice of their parent and family because parent know how to protect and guide their children.The guests belonged to different mindsets. One was liberal and other was limited. The discussion then jumped to the topic that women are facing a lot of problems in society, for e.g in public bus, road, in jobs and in education as well. Finally in the last segment, they came to the point which was the role of women in development of Karachi. Dr Yasmin Sultana added we could over come it by educating the women because an educated society leads to a better society. Advocate Shumaila Naqvi added that by providing facilities and opportunities to the women, we could make the condition of Karachi better. The shows ended at the point that women are less corrupt and should be given a higher status because they are good planner and good managers.Alia Burni added that We should start owning our city. Once we started, doing so a lot of of problems will be resolved. Sheema Kirmani added that Terrorism should stop in this city and there should be peace and prosperity. The T.V show recording was good but due to the crucial topics discussed, the environment got tensed. Well the topic was very motivating and informative. If every individual act upon it, we will be able to overcome the problems of Karachi. It will also help in the development of Quaid's City and Karachi will again become the city of lights.

پیمرا جسے ہم پاکستان الیکٹرانک ذرائع ابلاغ انضباطی اختیار کہتےے ہیں۔ پیمرا حکومت کی جانب سے ایک ایسا ادارہ ہے جس کے اختیار میں پاکستانی الیکٹرانک میڈیا کی پوری ذمہ داری ہوتی ہے کہ کسطرح سے اور کس نوعیت کے پروگرامزچینلز میں دکھائے جائے گے خاص طور پر پرائیوت چینل ۔ یکم مارچ 2002 میں پیمرا کے مقاصد وجود میں آئے اور وہ یہ تھے کہ پیمرا آسانی پیدا کرے پرائیوت  چینلز کے لیے ،باضابطہ طریقے سے پرائیوت الیکٹرونک ماس میڈیا کوچلائےاورتعلیم،معلومات اور انٹیرٹینمنت کے معیار کو بہتر کرے یہ تو تھا پیمرا کا کام جو اِسےانجام دینا تھا لیکن  اگر ایک عام اِنسان کی حثیت سے پاکستانی چینلز دیکھو  اور اس میں موجود ڈرامے دیکھو تو کئی پر بھی مجھے پیمرا کا ترتیب کرتا انتظام باضابطہ ظریقے سے نظر نہیں آتا اور یہ نہ صرف میری رائے ہیں بلکہ اُن تمام لوگوں کی رائے ہیں جو پاکستانی ڈرامے دیکھتے ہیں۔

قانونِ آئین کے مطابق ہر شہری کو یہ حق ہے کہ اُس کے پاس بولنے کی آزادی اور اَظہاریت کی آزادی موجود ہے لیکن صرف اِس بنا پر کہ وہ قانون اور اسلام کے خلاف جا کر  بلا شبہ کوئی کام نہ کرے اور یہی کردار پیمرا بھی نبھا رہا ہے  لیکن موجودہ صورتحال کو مدِنظر رکھتے ہوئے یہ اندازہ لگانا مشکل ہورہا ہے۔پیمرا جہاں یہ اصول ترتیب دیتا ہے کہ بھارتی ثقافت کی افزائش کی کسی بھی چینل کو اجازت نہیں ملے گی اور یہاں تک گھر گھر میں انڈین چینلز کی نشر  بند کردی گئی لہذا پیمرا کی جانب سے اِس چیز پر عمل بھی کیا گیا اور جو لوگ انڈین ڈرامے دیکھنے کے عادی تھے اُن کی عادت میں تبدیلی واضع طور پر دیکھنے کو ملی  پھر اِنھی لوگوں کا رُح پاکستانی ڈراموں کی جانب گامزن ہوتا ہوا نظر آ یااَب سوچنے والی بات یہ ہے کہ ہمارے پاکستانی چینل میں جو کچھ دکھایا جارہا ہے کیا وہ اپنے بچوں کے ساتھ بیٹھ کر دیکھا جاسکتا ہے یا نہیں اِسی احساسِ جرم کی شدت سے بوکھلا کر میں نے پکستانی ڈراموں پر مزید غورو فکر کرنا شروع کردیا خاص طور پر اُن ڈراموں پر جو ہماری ثقافت ،اسلام کے بلکل برعکس ہے اور جو دوسرے مذہب اور ثقافت کے پیشِ نظر ہےموجودہ ڈراموں کی صورتحال اِس قدر سنگین ہے کہ اِنسانی دماغ نے سوچنے پر مجبور کردیاہے کہ ایک جانب پیمرا نے  تمام انڈین ڈراموں کی نشر دکھانے سے پاکستانی چینلز پر پابندی لگادی ہے اور دوسری جانب یہی پیمرا یہ دیکھتے ہوئے خاموش ہے کہ کسطرح سے پاکستانی ڈرامے انڈین ثقافت کی افزائیش کرنے میں مصروف نظر آرہے ہیں ہمارے ہی پاکستانی فنکار ہندو کردار نبھاتے ہوے پُر جوش نظرآرہے ہیں۔

ان کی بول چال، رہن سہن ، رشتے مذہب ہر چیز ہم سے مختلف نظر آتی ہے یہاں تک کہ مسلمان ہونے کی حشیت سے کوئی بھی مسلمان دوسرے خدا کو نہیں پوجے گا کیونکہ ایمان لانے کے بعد دوسرے خدا  پر یقین رکھنا اپنے خدا سے توہین اور بہت  برا شرک ہے جو کسی بھی حالت میں قابلِ قبول بات نہیں مانا کہ ڈرامے حقیقت پر مبنی نہیں ہوتے مگر میڈیاایک
کی طرح ہے جو فوراََ اثر انداز کرتا ہے انفرادی زندگی پر اور معاشرے پر بھی۔magic bullet 

         ایسے کتنے ہی لوگ ہے جو دن کا آدھا وقت ٹی وی کے آگے بیٹھ کر ؤقف کرتے ہے اِیسے میں جب بچےیا عورت اِس قسم کے ڈرامے دیکھے گے تو لازمی طور پر اُن پر گہرے اثرات مرتب ہونگے عموماََ عرتیں ہی ڈرامے دیکھنے کی شوقین ہوتیں ہیں اور عورتوں سے ہی ہماری نسلیں آگے بڑھتی ہے لہذا اُس عورت کا بہتر ہوناہی پوری نسل کا بہترین روشن مستقبل ثابت ہوسکتا ہے مگر موجودہ صورتحال کو دیکھتے ہوئے حالات کی سنگینی کا جائزہ لیا جاسکتا ہے کہ کس قدر نازک ہے ۔ ہر ایک عورت انڈین ڈراموں کی شوقین نظرآتی تھی اور اَب پاکستانی ڈراموں کی حلانکہ ہونا یہ چاہیےکہ انڈین ڈراموں کی پابندی کے بعد پاکستانی ڈراموں میں انڈین ثقافت کو ردی برابر بھی ہوا نہیں دینی چاہیےمگر اِیسا نہیں ہوا بلکہ یمارے فنکار ہندو کردار نباتے ہوےمزید مہارت اور شہرت کی بلندیوں کو چھوتے ہوئےنظر آ رہے ہیں

اَن تمام چیزوں کو دیکھنے کے بعد بھی پیمرا کا کوئی کردار نظر نہیں آرہا یہاں تک کہ ہمارے نیوز چینلز پر سناٹا چھایا ہواہے اِیسے میں ناظرین اپنی آنکھوں پر کس حد تک پردہ بنائے رکھے جب پیمرا ہی اپنے فرائض کو پورا کرنا  نہیں جانتاپورے پورےڈرامے ہندو مذاہب پر مبنی نظر آرہے ہے اور اس کو دیکھنے والی مداح کی تعداد میں بھی اضافے کاخدشہ ظاھر ہے    اَب پیمرا کہا ہے کیا یہ سب اِسے دکھ نہیں رہا کہ اس قسم کے ڈراموں کی وجہ سے معاشرے میں انتہائی خطرناک اثرات   مرتب ہورہے ہیں جو ہماری ثقافت اور مذہب کے لیے بہترین نہیں ہے۔

Impact of Valentine's Day on Society

Christians celebrate Valentine's Day every year on 14th February, in remembrance of a priest, named Saint Valentine, thus declaring the day to be "St.Valentine's Day." It is said that during the rule of Roman emperor Claudius II, marriage for young men was prohibited as he claimed that bachelors would make better soldiers. What valentine did was that he started to secretly perform marriage ceremonies but eventually he was caught up by the Romans and put to death. On the other side some said that when Valentine was imprisoned by Claudius, he fell in love with the daughter of his jailer. But before his execution, he supposedly sent her a letter signed "from your Valentine." It was strongly supported by Europeans and also followed by them, as 10% of world's population lives in Europe which is a very big figure. They started celebrating it as a festival and as a result the family system got destroyed. They made a spout relationship as a burden and not as a responsibility. To get rid of it, they found an easy way to avail all the comfort spouts have but without any responsibility of a family, thus their new generation became the victim of it. Many of them didn't know about their descendants. They were brought up by single parent which eventually effected their mental condition. Europe, the most developed continent, has the highest rate of mental disorder patients. Considering the cause of this malignant disease the West no more celebrates it the way it was celebrated in the beginning. Continent Asia also became the victim of this malignant disease and many teenagers are celebrating it with their loved ones. Some people are celebrating it in a different way to express their love to their parents, siblings and their dear friends, saying that it is the day to express love, forgetting the history of valentines day. Every society could thrive if it is mentally healthy. The new generation is the backbone of society. If society gets indulged in these types of things, it could not flourish to compete with the world.

8th Karachi literature festival 2017

   First Karachi literature festival (KLF) was held on march 2010 after the success of that event they expanded it into Lahore and Islamabad. KLF is produced by oxford university press and founded by ameena saiyid. 

Like every year, this year the eighth Karachi literature festival held in beach luxury hotel on 9th , 10th & 11th February.This literature festival shows the positive side of Pakistan & yes! the happy faces I saw there in a sorrowful life in Pakistan was treasure. Everyone was attending the seminars of their interest,there were different feature debates, Discussions, Talks, English & Urdu mushaira, Book launches, theater Etc. I appreciated the management of KLF that was amazing & they managed every seminar dedicatedly , In 3 days of Festival nearly 2 lac people's participation recorded.This Festival was open for every class but the book sellers was selling expensive books which is unreachable for Students & i think they should improve this flaw next year because there was a large number of students attending the festival from different universities,colleges & schools. 
  On the 1st day of Festival the prize distribution ceremony, concert & speeches by the sponsors were scheduled. The Inauguration ceremony of KLF started at 5PM PST & ended after 9M PST
  On the Second day many programs were scheduled but "Urdu nu kia hua" , "Naye awazen:New urdu writers ,"Phool aur shabnam" & "Mushaira" was amazing <3
  On third & the last day of the Festival, that was also the Birthday of Faiz Ahmed Faiz, the best program was "Celebrating Faiz",  hosted by Ali madeeh hashmi & guest was Zehra nigah , Adeel hashmi & salima hashmi. Adeel hashmi recited many of faiz's poetry

I believe that through literature,we learn the culture of people & these types Festival helps us to expose what actually we are, i really admire the dedication of Oxford university press they have done a great job!!! thumbs up <y>

Karachi Literature Festival

8th (KLF) Karachi Literature Festival powered by Oxford University press is an amazing platform for those who look for good seminar. The speakers were very intellectual. It is not necessary that we listen what we want. It is a part of knowledge that we know every aspect of information. The speakers had a very open religious minds and done their job wonderfully. The audience of KLF belongs to the different parts of Pakistan and as well as other countries. The motive was to grab the audience in order to educate them. The book stalls had a wonderful collection of books but some of them were very expensive that they were out of reach of common people. These types of festival should arrange to facilitate the audience with knowledge as well as entertainment.
